About this ride

As daylight shortens we will soon run out of time for longer rides so this is one of the few leg stretchers we have left.

We start at Burton Manor Cafe at 10am (or the gate a bit later) and head off over the marshes and the Greenway to Waverton, Duddon, Little Budworth, Whitegates and then across the Weaver lock and up the rough path into Moulton and into Davenham and a cafe.
Return is Hartford, Norley, Ashton Heyes, Dunham on the Hill, Oil Sites Rd, across Ellesmere Port to Great then Little Sutton and our finish at Hooton Station.

60 miles and 1700 feet of climb

All roads we've travelled before, some areas need care when crossing main roads, however fallen leaves are a risk too.

Ride report

Another attempt at getting to Davenham and yet another failure due to mother nature. On this attempt we got a good bit beyond Walk Mill before we decided carrying on was risking getting really wet so a quick executive decision had us heading towards Tattennhall. Sadly we got quite wet heading to New Ma's but happily sat watching the hailstorm when the weather turned really nasty! Old/New Ma's (officially Manor Farm café) is a cracking café with all the classics and nice specials too. Return was moderately wet but the huge puddles showed we'd missed the worst thankfully.
